What Is the Difference Between an eTA and a Kenya Visa for Nigerians?
Kenya no longer issues visas for visitors. The eTA is the new digital way to authorize a trip to Kenya from Nigeria or any other eligible country.
Previously, Nigerian travelers needed to apply for a visa at a Kenyan High Commission or Embassy to get permission to visit the country. Visa applications were done in person.
Kenya began to digitize its immigration systems in 2021 with the eVisa service. This moved visa applications online.
At the start of 2024, Kenya upgraded its platform again, creating the new eTA. The eTA has now replaced all Kenya visas for Nigerian nationals and other travelers who require authorization.
