Kenya eTA Requirements for Canadian Citizens

To meet the Kenya eTA requirements, Canadian tourists must have a:

  • Proof of accommodation booking
  • Return flight or proof of onward travel
  • Credit or debit card to pay the fees
  • Current email address

To receive an approved eTA, travelers must fill out the Kenya eTA application for Canadians.

Applicants need to provide basic personal details, passport information, and travel plans. There are also some security questions.

Travelers can then submit their application and wait no more than 3 days to receive their approved eTA in their email inbox.

Can Canadians Get a Visa on Arrival in Kenya?

Canadians can no longer get a visa on arrival in Kenya. The Kenyan government has stopped issuing visas at the airport.

Canadian tourists must obtain an eTA online before traveling to Kenya.

Canadians are advised to apply for their eTA well ahead of departure to allow sufficient time for processing.

Travelers can register with the nearest Canadian Embassy when traveling in Kenya.

With the Embassy Registration service, visitors can receive important information about their destination before and during the trip.

Travelers who register with the Canadian Embassy in Kenya will:

  • Be quickly located in exceptional circumstances such as a natural disaster
  • Have faster contact with friends and family if there is an emergency back home
